This isn't usually the type of book I'd pick out for myself, and definitely wouldn't have gone out of my way to read it if I hadn't been lent it, but it was one of the most pleasantly surprising books I've read in a long time! From the start I was wrapped up in the glorious description, and the writing style throughout was just captivating. The twists and turns throughout each characters' life were not those I were expecting, and found myself completely shocked at some of the events that happened which only drew me deeper into the story. It's such a beautiful book, and one I would completely recommend, especially to those who, like me, wouldn't usually read a book like this.
