The Bay at Midnight. Diane Chamberlain - Diane Chamberlain This book focusses on 3 generations of the same family as they struggle to deal with the terrible events that lead to the death of a family member years ago. The story switches between the perspectives of sisters Julie and Lucy, their mother Maria and Lucy's daughter Shannon, each of whom has their own issues to deal with, about both the past and present. It's a really well written story that plays out in a way that leaves you eager to know more of the mysteries surrounding them family. The pace is perfect and the secrets unravel in a way that keeps you turning the pages. I absolutely loved it. Chamberlain gets lumped together with Jodi Picoult (who I'm a huge fan of) but their writing styles really are very different, so I'd recommend it to anyone, not just those who like Picoult.
