The Other Hand - Chris Cleave I wasn't sure what to expect from this book as it had a very ambiguous blurb. I'm not sure a summary would have spoiled any of the plot for me so to build it up that way was a little baffling. But still, I was very impressed with this book. A beautifully written tale of Little Bee, a Nigerian refugee who finds herself in the UK looking to escape the horrors of her previous life. Little Bee's voice throughout is beautiful, and I loved getting carried along on her journey.

The story is told from two points of view; Little Bee's and Sarah O'Rourke, a journalist whose relationship with Little Bee is one that holds painful memories for her. The relationship between the two of them is captivating and they're both interesting characters.

I was slightly disappointed with the ending but nevertheless this is a must read. It deals with some strong subject matters but if you like contemporary fiction then I'd highly recommend it.
